I grew up in a haunted house. I wish I knew then about telling them to find the light. I’ve had subtle visits by family members. It’s comforting. It’s their way of saying they’re ok.

My ghosts are often other people’s ghosts. Either they find me intentionally, or I just happen to hear them.

They do not follow me home. I appreciate this.

Ha! I guess that's a good thing. Where do they find you??

Apparently, they find me on the wrong floor!

On one occasion, it was the 2nd floor of a bed and breakfast in Cape May, NJ.

I was in the bed, reading before breakfast, while my husband was out for a walk.

I didn’t know it was a little ghost girl who was shaking the bed. I thought construction must’ve been going on. I got up, opened the door to the room, looked around, noticed nothing.

Hopped back in bed.

It started shaking again.

I decided it must be something outdoors. Like roadwork, sending vibrations inside. I wasn’t afraid. I didn’t make mention of it to my husband when he got back.

We went down to breakfast and were seated with another young couple. The husband explained that they’d gone on a ghost tour the previous evening. How after the tour guide had stopped in front of this very same bed and breakfast, they almost checked out, but couldn’t find an alternative place to stay for the night.

The guide had explained how a little girl had died in a fire and now haunted the place. She was known to go around shaking the beds. Psychic researchers had recorded her saying, “I want to go out and play.”

At this point, I dropped my fork and pushed back the plate pancakes. “She’s here.” I told them. I turned toward my husband. “She shook our bed this morning.”

I went to speak with the owner who said, “No, it’s not possible. You’re staying on the second floor. She only shakes the beds on the third floor.”

Most ghosts are stuck and should be guided to find the light.

‘My mom was comfortable with her ghosts. She even had a painting commissioned of her house with a ghostly image appearing in one of the corner windows.’ Ha! I love that!

Beautiful! Most of my ghosts are family members I’ve never even met. Yet I hear their laughter and screams a lot. They live deep inside me. And they are all precious.

my "ghosts" are ALL (or mostly) buddhas trying to coax me out of my persistent habitual patterns...

they take the view that eventually i'll kinda be influenced by their presence...hopefully in this life! 🤣
