Should You Kickstart Your Book Project?
Tomorrow at noon! Join me in conversation with Howard Lovy as we discuss his kickstarter project, "A Practical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism."
Howard Lovy has been many things: a journalist, covering everything from Judaism to science and technology, a podcaster, a feature writer for Publishers Weekly, a book editor, a memoirist. The list goes on.
But right now he says that the most important thing to know about him is that, as a child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors, he has written about antisemitism his entire life and the events of Oct 7 have compelled him to launch a new book project: A Practical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism.
Rather than find a traditional publisher, as Lovy did with his debut novel, which is coming out in 2025 from Vine Leaves Press (You can read an excerpt on Esoterica Mag that we ran earlier this year) — he decided to Kickstart the project.
In tomorrow’s Zoom interview, the last of the year, we will discuss:
Why kickstart a book project? What are the risk and benefits?
The nitty gritty of how to kickstart a project?
Can you still find a traditional publisher? Would you want to?
What happens if it doesn’t hit the target amount?
And more! Join the Zoom and ask Howard your own questions.
